Cellular phone network:
Due to the proximity to the United States border, most cell phone companies receive American signals better than Canadian signals at this location, so in order to avoid unpleasant surprises, we recommend that you contact your provider at this effect.
To cross into the United States on the lake, you must notify the American authorities and have your passport in hand. If you sail in the bay around the border without demonstrating that you are trying to progress to the United States, it is very likely that you can do so without risking being intercepted. However, it is always best to have your passport on hand to avoid misunderstandings with the authorities.
